Matt Poole is a seasoned IronMan veteran, RedBull athlete and Australian fitness icon. Growing up on the sands of Dee Why Beach in NSW, he started Surf Life Saving at the age of five. Matt is the oldest competitor to take to the surf in the 2021/22 Nutri-Grain Series, of whom has just announced his retirement. Matt couldn't be more excited for the next stage of his career, as a commentator at the Shaw and Partners Summer of Surf and having coached at Talle Surf Sports Nippers and Mermaid Surf Club, he is ready to inspire young athletes and the Australian public to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

Matt is now based in the beautiful Gold Coast and is a co-owner of successful alcohol company Gravity Seltzers. As a first time dad, Matt and daughter Posy can be seen regularly at the beach, at home cooking and enjoying the QLD sun!
