Olivia Molly Rogers, Creators Must Demand Better Briefs from Brands
ICON Olivia Molly Rogers joined industry leaders at the Creator Economy Summit, where she called on creators to demand clearer, more detailed briefs from marketers and agencies.
Speaking on the Creator Economy panel, the Australian content creator, presenter and former Miss Universe Australia shared how much the influencer marketing landscape has evolved over the past decade.
“It’s changed so much in the past eight years,” Olivia said. “The first time I was sent a product, there was no brief, no goals. I just posted it. Now there’s so much more intention and strategy behind collaborations.”
Olivia emphasised that well-structured briefs lead to better outcomes for both creators and brands.
“The more detail, the better. I love when a brand includes examples of what they want, and what they don’t want. It might seem controlling, but it actually helps creators deliver stronger content and achieve better results.”
The discussion, moderated by Naysla Edwards, VP of Marketing ANZ at American Express, explored the growing professionalism of the $800 million Australian creator economy. The panel also included Anthony Svirskis, CEO of influencer marketing platform Tribe, and chef and content creator Khanh Ong.
Olivia highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships and collaboration built on shared values:
“The best brand relationships are the ones that evolve over months or years. That’s when both sides truly understand each other and create something authentic.”
As a creator, mental health advocate and respected voice in the industry, Olivia continues to shape the conversation around transparency, creativity and integrity in Australia’s influencer space.
