One of Australia’s most respected legal voices, Jennifer Robinson features prominently in the powerful new documentary.
The Six Billion Dollar Man, which will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2025.Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Eugene Jarecki, the film follows the extraordinary legal and political battle to free Julian Assange, with Robinson at its centre. For over a decade, she has stood beside Assange as a key member of his legal team, navigating complex international legal systems and advocating fiercely for freedom of the press and due process.
Rhodes Scholar, Jen Robinson grew up in Berry, New South Wales, and has built an international career defending journalists, human rights activists, and whistleblowers. Her broader advocacy work has shaped global conversations about democracy, law, and truth.
Jennifer Robinson is the co-author of two acclaimed books: How Many More Women?: Exposing how the law silences women, which explores how legal systems suppress women’s voices in the wake of the #MeToo movement; and Silenced Women: Why The Law Fails Women and How to Fight Back, which outlines how defamation, privacy, and other laws are used to stifle women’s rights and how to challenge them.
She is currently working on a personal memoir, due for release in the coming year. Additionally, a dramatic television series inspired by her book, life and legal career is in early development.
