Australian Human Rights Lawyer Jen Robinson Features in Powerful New Assange Documentary Premiering at Cannes.
One of Australia’s most respected legal voices, Jennifer Robinson features prominently in the compelling new documentary, The Six Billion Dollar Man, which will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2025. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Eugene Jarecki, the film follows the extraordinary legal and political battle to free Julian Assange, with Jen at its centre. For over a decade, she has stood beside Assange as a key member of his legal team, navigating multiple legal systems and advocating fiercely for freedom of the press and due process.
A Rhodes Scholar, Jen Robinson grew up in Berry, New South Wales, and has built an international career defending journalists and human rights activists. Her broader advocacy work has shaped global conversations about democracy, law, and truth.
Jen is the co-author of: How Many More Women?: Exposing How the Law Silences Women, which explores how legal systems suppress women’s voices in the wake of the #MeToo movement (published in the UK as Silenced Women: Why The Law Fails Women and How to Fight Back).
She is currently working on another book about how the law can be used to fight for change, exploring key cases and movements she has been involved in.
Australian release details for The Six Billion Dollar Man will follow the Cannes premiere, with streaming and theatrical availability expected to be announced soon.
